Jack's a movie star!

Finally, I've figured out how to put our video on the blog!

Please ignore my horrible (and loud) singing voice in the background. We (except Jack) all know I can't carry a tune, and unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to mute my singing.

Helping Mom

Jack and I sorted through and packed up all his 0-9 months baby clothes yesterday. He was a big help!

Nice weather - finally!

Jack, Lola, and I have a great time playing outside now that the weather has been nice lately!

And I even managed to get myself in one of the pictures!

Jack and Deacon

Since I've been watching Jack's friend, Deacon, twice a week, and then Deacon's mom watches Jack for me twice a week, the two of them spend a lot of time together and have become great friends.

Together with Lola, they get into everything and have a blast doing so! Here's some pictures of them in action.

Unfortunately, Jack will not be able to help teach Nathan how to sleep through the night, but he's excited to come visit and show Nathan how to make sure the contents of a diaper end up everywhere but in the diaper.

Magic House

Ok, so I don't have the video ready yet. But I do have more pictures! We took Jack to the Magic House (St. Louis Children's Museum) for his first visit and it was great fun! His favorites:

~climbing up the ramp and then going head-first down the slide (over and over again)

~watching dad's hair go up in the static electricity exhibit (sorry, no picture of this!)

He's not a baby anymore

Playtime now consists of Jack pulling everything off of his bookcase and throwing it all over the floor. It's kind of fun, actually. He really gets into it and ends up taking most of the books off the shelves, pulling everything out of the baskets, and then going back and forth between all his toys with a happy smile.

The other picture is of him on my great toy find! I got this little car for $2.70 at Babies R Us! For some odd reason, the store had gotten in a bunch of last year's model (yes, you read that correctly) and so they were marked down to super-clearance price. They weren't actually out on the shelves, because all the employees had taken them and put them behind the counter to buy themselves for gifts, etc.! I overheard two of them talking about this and how cheap they were, and so when I asked about it, the girl showed me the car and I promptly asked to have it added to my purchases. Her face was too funny - you could tell she didn't want to sell it! But she did, and Jack loves it.

This picture also shows our new carpet downstairs and on the steps! It's a really light sage green berber carpet, and I love it! It is much nicer than that ugly brown carpet and the room looks so much brighter. We also carpeted the stairs, which has been wonderful, especially since Jack now climbs up the entire flight of stairs, unassisted! (although we are right behind him the whole time). I love having this new carpet - I know the hardwood in the rest of the house is nice, but I love being able to walk around barefoot on the carpet. And it's so much nicer for Jack to crawl on and I don't worry about him hitting his head.

I'm a sucker for all the cute t-shirts with sayings on them. Nordstrom's had a whole line of them, including one that says "My mom doesn't do anything all day". I almost bought that one, but then realized that since I'm not doing anything all day, I don't have any money to buy the shirt with.

This one here is from Baby Gap - Jack likes to wear it with his "Ladies Man" Hat.

If Jack stops gaining weight and Lola gets really fat . . .

we'll know why. Lola's figured out that what Jack has is better than her dinner any night, and Jack's figured out that it's pretty funny to feed the dog.

Finally! More pictures!

Sorry I haven't posted any new pictures in a while - Corey and Jack got me a new camera for Christmas, and it took me a little while to get it set up to download to the computer. But, the wait is over! Jack has been doing all kinds of new things - he loves to pull himself up on whatever he can reach now and has been enjoying pulling all his books off the shelf! He also had a great time at Christmas in Texas and even helped open some of his presents!

First tooth!

If you look close enough, you can see his first tooth! Jack actually has two of them now, both on the bottom, and he's working on the top two - you can feel them through his gums.

Here we are on Thanksgiving - I was going to use this picture for our Christmas cards, but ended up going with a different photo. Actually, three different photos, since Kodakgallery lets you do collage-style Christmas cards! Which was great fun, except that this created so many choices that it took hours for me to decide on a christmas card. And the one I decided on finally was the first one I'd created! Of course.

Swim class

Jack and his buddies (Trent, David, and Ella) started swim class this week. He loved being in the water, and especially enjoyed playing with the blue ball and chasing it through the water. Maybe he has some of his Daddy's water polo skills?

Trick or Treating!

We took Jack around to a few houses for Halloween- mainly family and friends that live close to us. He fell asleep in the car on the way to the first house and then didnt' seem to understand why we woke him up and forced him to put back on his monkey suit! I think he enjoyed seeing everyone though, but by the time we got home he was definitely ready for bed!
